Hi There,
I attended the art space Jimmy Rankin contest last night in Prince George, BC. It was incredible!!
I got to meet Jimmy after the concert when he signed my CD.
He may or may not remember me as I had bandaged arm and had him write something bizarre on the cover, which I would like to explain.
I had him write, “To Shelley, happy to be on your island”
now to explain..years ago I was in a writing class where I had to choose 4 people to be on A deserted island with me. I choose my pioneer granny, as she could make something out of nothing. My sister as she was my best friend. A carpenter friend (who had been renovating our house at the time – needed his skills. My 4th was Jimmy Rankin, as his music moved me and filled me up.
My husband was affended he was not on my island (NOT). Our carpenter was told this story and we laughed as the more house renovations we did, he wanted off my island!!.In Jimmy signing the CD cover, I have the last laugh as I met the owner of the inspirational voice I have been listening to for years as well as get to rub it in that Jimmy “happy to be there”

Love the new CD and especially love “Walk This Way” with Serena Ryder (you guys sound great together). You’re one of the top three singer/songwriters alive today and here’s hoping you finally get the international recognition you deserve. It’s long overdue.
