Tower of Lethendy

Tower of Lethendy
By Jimmy Rankin

We drank up everything in store
It was time for movin’ on
Nothing ever lasts he swore
Now that the past is gone

We bid our fond farewells
In the morning parted ways
Headed down that winding road
From the Tower of Lethendy

Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Of Lethendy

It was raining when we lit out
So many miles from home
My mind was set on something else
And a place to call my own

The face that she was staring from
Like a Modigliani
Could never ever be denied
In the Tower of Lethendy

Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Of Lethendy

London was bustling
But the night life took its toll
Trippin’ down the rainy streets
Burned right to my soul
The hissing of the passing cars
Was real live poetry

Had I seen the last of her
And the Tower of Lethendy

Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Blame it on the Tower
Of Lethendy
