Took a stroll down by the ocean
But I couldn’t find them there
So I climbed up where the bluffs are
I didn’t see them anywhere

These days I’m seeking shelter
For a place to hide my head
I’m not asking for salvation
But the simple things instead

The summer winds have come and gone
They never mean to stay
All the bonnie birds have flown
On this autumn day
I’m a dog out in the rain
