After three years in Yarmouth, the NSLC Gala Awards Show will offer a grand send-off to Nova Scotia Music Week at the Yarmouth Mariners Centre on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m.
The hosts for the evening will be Candy Palmeter and Tony Quinn.  Palmeter writes, produces and hosts her own variety television show, “The Candy Show,†and is a regular contributor to CBC’s DNTO. Quinn’s career in the entertainment industry includes a 13-year stretch of standing-room only comedy matinees on the Halifax Waterfront and being emcee and feature comedian at the Halifax Comedy Festival.
The laughter on stage will also have a local flare with Owen and Gerry of Yarmouth County, known for such songs as “If I Had a Million Lobsters†and “Lobster Claw.â€
Musical performances during the gala will include Yarmouth’s Ryan Cook, Jenn Grant, Carmen Townsend, Slowcoaster, Three Sheet, Jimmy Rankin and Rhapsody Quintet. There will also be a collaboration by some of Canada’s most up-and-coming hip-hop acts, including Juno-nominee Ghettosocks, Ghettochild, J-Bru, Quake and Asia. More performers will be announced soon.
