Jimmy Rankin is spending much of spring 2011 on tour across Canada to showcase his fourth solo album, Forget About the World. Much celebrated for his years performing with his siblings in The Rankin Family, the singer and guitarist sounds entirely confident on the new record, navigating a variety of musical genres with enviable ease. During a recent Sunday afternoon concert at the Princess Ave. Playhouse in St. Thomas, Ontario, the forty-six year old explained to his audience that the new twelve-song collection is a “country-pop-roots record”. Forget About the World is definitely eclectic enough to merit such an inclusive description.
