Massive volunteer effort ensured festival’s success

EMC Events – Thanks to sunny skies, talented entertainers and a lot of hard-working volunteers, the 2011 Stewart Park Festival was another huge success.

“It’s many hands that go together to make the festival,” said festival committee chair John McKenty, thanking both the committee members who meet year round, and the additional volunteers who come out to work on the weekend.

McKenty said crowds were good all three days of the festival, especially Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16. “Certainly Saturday night for Jimmy Rankin, in my years of going to the festival, was one of the biggest crowds I’ve seen,” he said. “The weather was great, a little too warm, maybe, but that’s better than the rain.”
