Rankin wins best roots artist award

Even winning a major award doesn’t free a travelling musician from the mundane tasks of touring.

Jimmy Rankin was named roots artist of the year at the Canadian Country Music Awards, breaking Corb Lund’s seven-year grip on the trophy. The awards were held at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton on Monday night.
